Rather casual sartorial choices arose on the day I wore said outfit above, much to the surprise of myself as often, I opt for a higher heel, a fussier ensemble - something that I would adhere to be more striking than your average t shirt and jeans. However, contrary to usual occurrence, such was the uniform I chose to attach myself to for the day and so, a change was at hand - and foot too - with  the Topshop sale providing its usual trove of treasure, this time in the form of a much coveted shoe of delight (for me, at least) - the three strap flat, akin to Alexa Chung's much loved Vivienne Westwood pair - if only. In my case, just add a pair of well worn sparkly socks and you're good to go - daring to go bare may be best left for the fairer months with sunny skies (the summer crave has indeed begun). With a price of greatly reduced glory (£25.00 down from £62.00 FYI) I could not click 'add to bag' quick enough, somehow the sales just keep on getting better for me - unplanned sale purchases somehow end up as some of the most favoured items in my wardrobe. Take the part black, part vinyl harrington jacket for example - another Topshop sale gem - no surprise then that it is not unlike the strappy black flats in that said jacket had too only existed within the fabrication of my mind, any search for such jacket in material form turned no glory, until the ever-giving wonder that is the Topshop sale made such imagination a reality.

I feel it is due to the sales of late that I entered the new year feeling somewhat refreshed in the wardrobe-worry department, while I spent much of the latter months of 2015 feeling dull and uninspired when it came to my clothing choices, I now feel slightly overwhelmed when it comes to tackling that ever looming question of 'What should I wear today?'. Although daunting, said question now fills me with excitement, and it is a resolution of mine to get more wear out of the items in my wardrobe that I proclaim to love yet never see the light of day, I always remind myself that for most clothing, there is always more than one way you can style it - and, most importantly - you never know how something will look with that skirt, or those trousers - unless you try it on. I've found that my most favourite ensembles were born through what first seemed like odd pairings, thrown together in a spontaneous rush of inspiration - and that is what I want to achieve more of in 2016, after all, with a good outfit, you feel you can conquer anything - and that is the foundation for a good day ahead.

  10. Love this! Very vintage-casual-esque. The shoes are gorgeous and such a bargain! Topshop always have the best sales. I also completely agree with you about going into the new year with a different outlook style-wise. I was stuck in such a wardrobe rut but now I'm feeling more positively laid back x

  14. Love this outfit, your jeans look fab! When I haven't bought any new clothes for a while it kind of forces me to style the clothes I do have in different ways, and it's quite fun coming up with completely new outfits from the same pieces!
